Time Management

Effective time management can completely change your life from a confused, disorientated mess, into one that is productive, organized and above all, controlled by yourself.

There are lost of different ways to achieve this, they don't always work for everyone, so you must find a technique that suits you best.

The following are definitely areas to consider:

1.   List Goals.  Make a list of the things you want to achieve, be it in the short or long term.  Break down each goal.  If you start to control your breathing by breathing slowly and easily, that will make you feel much better.  

2.   Set Priorities.  Using the above list of goals, prioritize each objective by numbering them or giving them a must, should, maybe scale of importance.

3.   Make a Daily 'Things to do' List.  This is really helpful if you are prone to forget things.  Write your list at the same time, each day, either in the morning of the day or the night before.  This creates a pattern that will become a habit to you.  Prioritize in the same way as above.

4.   Frequently ask yourself, "What is the best use of my time now?"

5.   Use a timetable to organize your week or term.  This gives an overview and can be used like a diary to put in appointments.  It can be really useful in working out time available in conjunction with meeting deadlines, e.g. essay submission dates, projects and folders to be handed in by …
